Palumbo SY Refit has recently completed an extensive refit project on the 68-meter superyacht Aviva, originally built by Abeking & Rasmussen in 2007. The comprehensive refit, carried out at the company’s Marseille shipyard, marks one of the most significant projects undertaken by the yard in the past eight years.
The refit project involved a wide range of services, the most challenging of which was a full paintjob. This made it possible to restore the superyacht’s original beauty and increase her value over time. A result achieved thanks to the long-term partnership between PSY and ISC Finishing. The superyacht’s open decks received a complete teak restoration, bringing back its pristine condition. Inside, all accommodation has been completely refurbished and the galley has been upgraded. Particular attention has been paid to renewing the CCTV, AV and security systems. The navigation systems have also been modernised to ensure optimum performance and safety.
The refit also included a complete overhaul of the superyacht’s main engines and diesel generators to ensure they operate at peak efficiency. The stern shafts were removed and the propellers meticulously serviced. The hull tanks also underwent various hot works. Both the forward and aft thrusters were revised, as were the stabilisers and the vessel’s hydraulic systems, including the stern and side doors and moveable gangways.
Throughout the refit process, there was a strong emphasis on teamwork and coordination among the shipyard’s engineers, the superyacht’s captain, technical specialists, and the crew. This collaborative effort was crucial in delivering a project that met the client’s expectations in terms of quality, cost, and schedule.
